Where Travel becomes a Bond
Apricous designs experiences that demand participation. You might live inside the stories you love, trading places with your favourite characters. You may strip things back completely by pitching tents far from civilisation, learning to read the land, the weather, and each other. Some journeys push adrenaline: dogsledding, jungle treks, cold water, early mornings. Others calm you with shared meals, shared silences, and the quiet safety of being hosted by an Incredible Grandma. Every experience is built to change dynamics, not just scenery. It balances movement with meaning, thrill with rest, independence with togetherness.

Is a father son bond really important?
+
Children want to make their fathers proud, and an involved father promotes inner growth and strength. Studies have shown that when fathers are affectionate and supportive, it greatly affects a child's cognitive and social development. It also instils an overall sense of well-being and self-confidence.
How much time should I spend with my child?
+
There is no right answer but the idea is quality and not quantity. In addition to have daily contacts and routine it is also important to spend time away from routine. A space where there are no calls, screens to distract you. Our itineraries are designed to enable this parent-child bonding.
Are there only group tours?
+
While we encourage parents and children to interact with likeminded people on our trips, it needn’t always be that. We design and plan bespoke holidays as per your and your child’s interest and hobbies as well.
Why stress on outdoor?
+
It beats the routine! In the last few decades, children are spending less time outdoors and more time cooped-up inside. Apart from positively impacting children’s development, sharing outdoor activities together strengthens family bonds. Be it a day trip to a park or spending time in your own backyard, as long as you are outside. Being out of your comfort zone and trying new experiences once in a while, we believe can be a lot more fun.

Bond with your roots
What does a “roots journey” actually involve?
+
It’s a thoughtfully designed trip to your ancestral region, shaped around history, culture, and personal connection rather than sightseeing alone.
Do I need detailed ancestry records to take this journey?
+
Not at all but they can definitely help make the journey more detailed.. Even a village name, family story, or oral history is enough to begin tracing meaningful connections.
Is this trip suitable for traveling with family across generations?
+
Yes. These journeys are especially powerful when shared with parents, children, or elders for an emotional walk through your ancestral heritage.
How is this different from a regular heritage tour?
+
It’s not just any heritage location – it is your heritage, the place that your ancestors lived in . Maybe grandparents are from a village in Uganda or India – let’s take you to your village and your home ( if still there). You experience places through lived stories, local interactions and not tourist checklists.
Can this journey span multiple countries or continents?
+
Absolutely. Many roots journeys naturally cross borders, reflecting the real paths families have taken across generations.

FAQ's
How does travel help bond with my child?
+
In recent years, studies have shown that travel benefits children’s education, as well as their ability to adapt socially. Experiencing new cultures often means children are more open minded. Children are also thought to absorb knowledge more effectively through experiential learning, so while trying new cuisines and getting to know local customs, they may even pick up a little of the language.
Why do I need to meet local tribes?
+
Tribal interactions not only give children an understanding of how the people live but also about how they evolved over time. Children who develop an awareness of cultural differences and are able to develop a positive viewpoint regarding diversity usually maintain happy and productive lives. Learning about various cultures also improves a child’s empathy towards others.
Is there a fear of infections?
+
The tribes do fear spread of infections and diseases from outsiders. Your vaccination certificates will all need to be in place in case it’s a prerequisite listed by the tribe head eg – the Tagbanua tribe in Philippines has not opened up to public interactions post covid. (as on February,2023)
Can I live with tribes?
+
This is not always possible, some tribes do not allow prolonged stays and it may also be a concern due to lack of accommodation options. However, if you wish to have longer interactions, they can be arranged as a part of our custom travel plan eg- living with nomads of Mongolia is an option that can be explored.
