Experiences & Bonds

Wonders of nature

Once Reykjavik disappears in the rearview and you head into the highlands, the geography books come alive. Lava tubes swallow you whole, waterfalls thunder over basalt cliffs, black sand stretches to the horizon, geysers erupt on schedule, and glaciers groan under their own weight. By night, the Northern Lights take over the sky. This is one of the youngest landmasses on Earth, still being built in real time and every mile reveals something the atlas didn’t warn you about.

Geothermal Zone

Weather decides the day, and often it decides in our favour - a drive toward Landmannalaugar, one of Iceland’s great geothermal zones. Wade into a warm river carved through a lava field, retreat to a mountain cabin as the light fades, and let hot chocolate replace conversation for a while. The elves and trolls come out properly once the folktales start by the fire.

Survive the snow

Can your family make it through together? Learn to read an Icelandic storm, build a snow shelter with your own hands, and practise the search patterns that find a friend buried in an avalanche. Spend a night in a polar expedition tent if you’re brave enough, tracing the footsteps of the explorers who came before you.

Walk Glaciers & Volcanoes

Snow driven, rivers crossed? Now it’s time to walk. Crampons on, ice axes in hand, the family sets out across the Sólheimajökull glacier: blue ice underfoot, centuries of pressure beneath it, and a future that’s melting faster than the textbooks predicted. It’s equal parts science lesson and adventure, and the kind of walk nobody forgets.

Where Every Day is
Designed for You

Sitting together in a mountain hut as the storm passes outside, wrapped in warmth and quiet as the sky flickers green above you. No rush. No distractions. Just a moment that belongs to you.

Parent and child rope up together on the glacier, reading the ice and the terrain as a team, building trust one step at a time. Fireside folktales, glacial hikes, and geothermal soaks introduce children to Iceland’s landscape and its legends learned gently, through experience, not lectures. Snow shelters and survival challenges invite cooperation and quiet pride, without competition or pressure.

Anurag & Aditi, Goa

You really made our life easy, and we thoroughly enjoyed every bit of and we spent some quality time together as a family! We loved the stuff put together for the kids. Will definitely be coming back to you to plan our next trip!!

Siraj & Family

Neither of us had ever camped overnight before, so trekking through Dovrefjell for the three of us and pitching our tent for the night was its own kind of achievement. No signal, no schedule. Just us, as a family, bonding together with Musk Ox for company.

The unending list of stunning beaches is probably the most obvious reason to visit this tropical paradise in the Indonesian archipelago- Yes ,it is Bali. Each beach has its own charm, from soft white sand and limestone cliffs to extreme water sports and diving. From the mainstream Kuta and luxurious Nusa Dua neighbourhoods to hidden, remote beaches away from the crowds, there's a beach for everyone, every need and every mood. Thank You APRICOUS!

Anantika & daughter, New Delhi

Thank you so much for organizing such a wonderful fun trip. Spent some fun time with my daughter. You really have organized it very well for woman travelers alone, it’s great We both enjoyed all the experiences; the husky ride got the better of us and was a tad scary.

The first thing that crossed our minds was – Mongolia is huge. Distances are a lot and we were advised against going with an 8 yr old but I would say – Don’t listen to them! Yes, there were two long driving days but worth it. Was a very well organized one– some out of the box things – just when you think there could be nothing here (there is a lot of nothingness in the landscape) WHAM !! came the action … My wife and I loved the chitter chatter and excitement in our daughter’s voice throughout. I plan to go back for the reindeer experience as well… let’s hope soon. A big thank you to Apricous for the amazing memories.

FAQ's

What is the best time to visit Iceland with children?

Iceland works year-round, but the experience shifts completely by season. Winter (October to March) brings Northern Lights, snow survival skills, and cosy fireside evenings in mountain cabins. Summer (June to August) brings near-endless daylight, easier highland access, and calmer glacier conditions.

Can we see the Northern Lights in Iceland?

It depends on solar activity and clear, dark skies, so it’s never guaranteed. We recommend at least 3–4 nights away from Reykjavik’s light pollution to maximise your chances, ideally paired with a stay in a mountain cabin near a geothermal zone.

Is glacier walking safe for kids?

Yes, when it’s guided and matched to age and fitness. At Sólheimajökull, children are fitted with crampons and harnesses and walk supervised routes chosen for the group’s pace, not a fixed itinerary. It’s genuinely physical, but built to feel like an achievement rather than a strain.

Is self-driving Iceland’s highlands safe with a family on board?

It can be, but conditions change fast — weather, river crossings, and F-roads are not something we’d leave to a rental car and a map. Our routes into zones like Landmannalaugar are planned with local specialists who read the day’s conditions before deciding whether, and how, to drive in. That’s what lets families reach the remote geothermal spots safely, without the trip depending on the weather forecast alone.
